i’m hooked on the italian renaissance, but i don’t just want another dry art history book. i’m curious about the atmosphere, the politics, the daily life, the gossip around courts, the philosophy, all of it.
i’ve read the basics on leonardo and michelangelo, but i want something like stepping into florence or venice back then. could be history, biography, or even a solid historical novel.
what books really capture that world?
