Looking for a well written (but easy to get in to quickly, hard to put down) book with adventure/nature/mountains/suspense/mystery themes. Okay for it to be dark but nothing super depressing or tragic. Bonus if set in the pnw or BC. (For an October book club read for a group of 30something ladies who like to read good books that inspire good discussion). Thank you!!

Wild: Lost & Found on the Pacific Crest Trail (a bit in the PNW + PDX)
Heartwood (Maine, but hits everything else)
Devolution (possibly the most well done audiobook I’ve ever listened to, if anyone in your group likes those sometimes.)
My Sister’s Grave (first in a series, but fits – there are actually a ton of series like this, but not necessarily mountain setting/they may jump around in various types of PNW settings – but may not be great for actual deep discussions)
The River by Peter Heller (Canada, Hudson Bay Area)
Not mountain setting, but Midnight at Soap Lake hits nature + mystery + Wa (same with So Far Gone by Jess Walter)
