I just want to read something that makes me feel solidarity with the Gen Z bullshit I’m surrounded by. There are plenty of books that get growing up or being a teenager or the transition into adulthood but I haven’t found much that understands much of what is crippling the people around me. Anxiety, political instability, the sensation of being constantly watched from social media and cell phones, loosing important chunks of your life to things completely out of your control… It seems like most of the books I’ve found that fit this have characters are also rebellious and I don’t mind that, it’s just not very relatable when all of my friends have Life360 and are too busy working second jobs to party. Idk, the college experience just feels isolating sometimes and it’s comforting to know I’m not the first or the last person to walk this path. Don’t make fun of me but the closest thing I’ve read to what I’m describing is Crime and Punishment 😭Thanks, and sorry for the ramble.
