Really enjoyed the idea of a highly skilled person conducting a lone mission. Looking for more suggestions. Doesn’t even have to be related to contract killing, the protagonist can be someone benevolent as long as they work mostly on their own and novel details the workings and methodology of someone highly competent in their field.

I know it’s over recommended but The Martian and especially Project Hail Mary are both very much competency-porn!
