I'm looking for a book on stoicism. I've never directly read about it but what I have learned has always resonated with me and I'd like to learn more. Two issues I've had:
-
I haven't read philosophy in years, and from what I remember there's a definite skill required which I've let atrophy. I need something accessible, but not so simple as to not be thought-provoking.
-
I've heard from sources I trust that the name stoicism has been coopted by some of the modern toxic dude-bro influences and I have no faith in their interpretations of the philosophy.
Could someone recommend a book that's both readable and not written by one of the Paul brothers?
