Thinking about Shogun vs. Lonesome Dove. Also thinking about Covenant of Water since I loved a different Verghese book and am in the medical field, but I heard that one is slow. Just finished Anna Karenina and really enjoyed it, but taking a break from heavy stuff at the moment. Currently reading A Christmas Carol for the first time but should finish that soon.
Ultimately want a good well-rounded hearty fiction, not something that I have to think about TOO hard, but don’t mind thinking some. For context if you have other suggestions, my faves:
All time- Count of Monte Cristo
Sci-Fi- 3 Body Problem Trilogy
Fantasy- Name of the Wind, LOTR
Thank you so much!

Big Shogun fan. I was captured by everything.
Anything as long as it’s not Lit Fic
Donna Tartt is wonderful holiday reading. The Secret History is pretty much universally acclaimed. The Goldfinch is a brick and I know some people disliked it, but I enjoyed the hell out of it.
