I’ve spent years mostly reading classics (Dumas, Tolstoy, Austen, the Brontës, etc.). I used to love them, but now I'm craving something lighter, more fun or engaging, but still well-written.
I enjoy books with a bit of romance, but I’m not into full-on romance novels. I like emotional depth and strong character development.
I’m open to fantasy and historical fiction, just looking for something immersive, with good characters and a nice atmosphere.
Any suggestions?❤️

This might be classics again, depending on where you draw the line, but I found Stephan Zweig’s The post office girl and Beware of pity incredibly immersive and in a way like very well written best sellers
