Sorry if this is super specific, but I’m looking for a book with a darker, more atmospheric vibe, mystery, suspense, maybe crime-solving or uncovering hidden truths. Not horror, more like stories that feel like they mostly happen at night.
I’d love something with a duo: a strong, mysterious, and attractive woman (doesn’t have to be the main character) paired with a guy, where they have that kind of chemistry. The romance doesn’t have to be the main focus, but it should feel intense and meaningful.
Kind of like the movie The Gorge, it’s not exactly crime-solving, but it has that duo dynamic and magnetic energy between the two leads.
Basically: dark, mysterious story with a compelling duo and layered romance. No high school romance or cliché.
