(Before I start, I should mention that I've never actually used Reddit before so I'm not quite familiar with how this all works, so please be patient with me lol)
I was a huge bookworm as a child, but at some point lost the motivation and haven't read anything in years. I want to get back into reading but have been having an unbelievably frustrating time finding things that fit my taste, and it gets kinda disheartening. Any help is greatly appreciated!
It's difficult to describe what I'm looking for, honestly. I love fun, unique, colorful, deep characters, and even more than that I love deep relationships between characters. Especially if those relationships are messy (I have a fondness for sibling relationships in particular). Those two things are the main elements that get me invested in something. I usually don't care much for romance and I am unwilling to read anything spicy. I enjoy almost any genera but particularly love stories about magic and powers. I love anything weird and whimsical and childish. I don't usually enjoy anything that explores hot button issues like racism, feminism, homophobia, and other such things, and typically I prefer to avoid stories that deal with themes of religion.

And as much as I'm embarrassed to admit it, I was OBSESSED with Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu for a few months. I also recently reread Spirit Animals, a series I adored as a kid, and still enjoyed it a lot. So I'm definitely willing to read things targeted at a younger audience as long as there's a lot there for me to sink my teeth into.
