Hello, just like the title says I’m looking for horror books WITH cardboard characters that are one dimensional.

This is going to sound really lame but I have been a long time reader now, and I have noticed people always saying in book reviews.

“Cardboard characters, that are one dimensional”.

Now, I know what the definition of that statement means.

Sometimes the reviews are on books that I really enjoyed the characters. I love books that are mostly dialogues. I always thought you can learn about a person the most by listening to them talk (or reading). So when people say that they are cardboard characters. I guess, I don’t understand. Or when they say the dialogue is ‘cringey’?

I don’t need every emotion or thought to be a 20 page detailed explanation of how a person feels or how

“the wind blew across the nape of his neck that reminded him of the alps he once hiked up to in a snowy winter frost that had nipped, not bitten him yet.”

I’m ok with someone writing “he was cold”. lol

So I’m asking for a list of horror books WITH cardboard characters so I can learn and see what the difference is and maybe I can turn them into recommendations for myself. Because apparently I like simple minded stories??

So I guess the objective is books with mostly dialogues and less descriptions of everything under the sun.

    Thanks in advance!
