*The Testaments*, by Margaret Atwood, is a sequel of sorts to *The Handmaid’s Tale*. Definitely worth looking at. Many of her other books should work.

*A Wizard of Earthsea* by Ursula K. Le Guin is not exactly what you’re after, but the second and fourth books in the series are definitely worth looking into. The fourth is very much driven by feminist ideas. Again, another author whose work should resonate.

I’ve not read *Julia* by Sandra Newman, but it’s a retelling of George Orwell’s *1984* from the perspective of this character. Given the connections between *1984* and *The Handmaid’s Tale*, it’s worth bringing it to your attention.

      Happy reading!
