I just inhaled the entirety of Don Winslow's Cartel trilogy, made up of The Power of the Dog, The Cartel and The Border and I'm absolutely blown away. It's an epic narrative told over years, a dark, bleak, violent and tragic story of drugs, death, violence, politics and bureaucracy that's pretty much peak when it comes to crime/thriller fiction I've read.
Is there anything that's similar in terms of tone and vibes, and just how compelling it is?
