The 80s is a decade that has always interested me! I have read other memoirs/essays set in the 80s and loved them, but they have been more focused on a particular theme (like growing up in an abusive home, e.g.). This time I'm looking for something that isn't focused on any particular heavy theme (but it's okay if it has more heavy/mature/explicit content!). I'm looking for something that is well-written, poetic, slice of life, coming of age, full of interesting and silly stories, memories, experiences, pop culture references, something that when you finish it you really know what it was like to be a young person growing up in that time period/culture of the 80s.
Thanks so much in advance for your help!
