I want to check out Clarice Lispector and William Faulkner but I’m not sure where to start, what are the best book of theirs for a first-time reader?

I’ve heard wonderful things about the two and I really want to check them out. I’m just worried I’ll try reading one of their more difficult pieces and get burnt out on them.
