I realized recently that many of my favorite books are written by poets. I love their use of language, even though I've never really connect with more standard poetry. Looking for some new options! Some authors I've read recently and love: Pedro Lemebel, Seán Hewitt, Sylvia Plath, Ocean Vuong. Thank you!

The memoir “How to Say Babylon” by Jamaican poet Safiya Sinclair is exceptional. I was telling all my friends & family about it for weeks afterwards.

Praisesong for the Kitchen Ghosts, a memoir by Crystal Wilkinson (poet laureate of Kentucky 2021-2023)
