My mentor / mother figure recently passed away and I’ve never been close with my ‘real’ mom. My mentor was whimsical yet fierce, practical, a little country but hippy at the same time, artsy, creative, incredibly wise and kind. Like those older women you see at the farmers market and wish you knew them / could learn everything from them, that was her. She had lots of saying like “if it were easy, everyone would do it.” She reminded me of Dolly Parton, The Chicks, Kasey Musgraves.
It doesn’t have to be exactly like that, but she was feminist and well educated and taught me to be strong too. I want to read books of characters like her, or just books when I feel like I need to hear wisdom of an older woman. I prefer fiction 🙂
Thank u! 🌻🌼
