Hello my last postpartum I really enjoyed the book lessons in chemistry, even though there were some sad moments. It did touch on motherhood and being a new mom and so forth. Since then, I have liked many books like this with some sort of motherhood/family as a topic. Female character development. I’m not looking for any psychology or self help or pregnancy or health or parenting books at all. Just works of fiction.

    1. So Thirsty by Rachel Harrison

The Last Heir to Blackwood Library by Hester Fox

These two books are really different but both heavily fixate on female characters getting robbed of their agency and having to reclaim it. So Thirsty is a silly little vampire dramedy and Blackwood Library is a historical fiction that takes place in England post WW1. Both are excellent.

If you just want fiction with great female characters (that have some development but where they are really pretty great from the outset) here are a few additional suggestions:

      – The Book of the Ancestor trilogy by Mark Lawrence

      – Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

      – Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire
