I’ve recently rewatched this film and I’m wondering if there were any books like it, preferably something with a more literary bent. In terms of similarities I’m looking for something dark or mysterious, set in the 1800s, with sea captains and sailors, and with strange archaic language. Moby Dick is the only one I could think of and it’s already on my list.
