Hi everyone,
I just got back into reading and re-read Jane Eyre, which has been my favorite love novel since I was 15.
Now in my early 30s I love it even more — but I realize I sometimes want something a bit more explicit in terms of love and passion (not pornographic lol, just more intensity and directness).
I mostly enjoy historical love stories, but I’m open to great modern ones too. My only big request: happy ending please. I’m not in the best place right now to sob over a tragic romance, even though I don’t mind plenty of drama along the way.
I tried asking ChatGPT and it suggested North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell… and I just spent a whole week reading about factory workers and labor unions, all for like 10 pages of romance. 🥲 Please, spare me another heartbreak like that.
So — what are your most passionate, sweeping love story recommendations with a satisfying (and preferably happy) ending?
I’m desperate!
