Looking for some speculative fiction that will get me in the mood for Halloween!

I just finished The Women Could Fly by Megan Giddings and I was a bit disappointed by how flat I felt it was. I am looking for something with similar themes, (magic, witches, dystopia, complicated familial relationships, etc.) but something a bit more intense. The best way to describe what I am looking for is that this book is gonna make me yell at it while simultaneously not being able to put it down.

It doesn’t need to be a thriller, or horror book, but I would like some darker themes to it. It honestly could just take place on Halloween and I would probably be happy. I am not a fan of romance and would actually prefer if there is romance it’s more in the background.
