Looking for recommendations of sci-fi written by (cis or trans) women. Ideally something closer to the "hard sci-fi" end of the spectrum and more interstellar than near-future.
Books/Authors I've Enjoyed (Not all of these are women):
- Octavia Butler (I've read the Parable and Xenogenesis books)
- Kim Stanley Robinson
- Translation State
- Adrian Tschaikovsky
- Stephen Baxter's Xeelee books
And before anyone gets worked up, I'm asking because my reading has skewed heavily male this year.

Try asking at r/Femalegazesff.
Ursula K Le Guin wrote quite a few distant future sci series.
Connie Willis
Elizabeth Moon’s Remnant Population is excellent as are her Vatta’s War and Serrano series
FYI, Kim Stanley Robinson is a man.
