Hi!
I've been trying to get back into reading this year. I've had success with reading physical Manga, as well as revisiting old series I enjoyed when I was younger like The Hunger Games and Percy Jackson. I also tried The Poppy War and liked it, but found it quite dense and it took me a realy long time to get through. I really am not interested in some of the more popular fantasy novels these days that include smut.
What would you recommend that is a fantasy or magic, or a darker toned series for an adult? Bonus if it's LGBTQ+ but not necessary.

Scholomance trilogy by Naomi Novik. Book one is called *A Deadly Education*.
I’d suggest the Broken Earth trilogy by NK Jemisin (the first one is The Fifth Season).
The Greenbone Saga by Fonda Lee (which starts with Jade City) is also very good.
Those two both have LGBTQ+ characters. A lot of people also like Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn series, which is very accessible to newer fantasy readers but does not have LGBTQ+ characters.
