I am new to reading classics, but really enjoyed Pride and Prejudice. I typically like books with a bit of romance, however it does not need to be the main plot. If there are any books without romance, still let me know if they are very good. If possible can u give me a really brief summary of the themes of it?
I am planning on buying Nineteen Eighty-Four, Persuasion, and The Age of Innocence, but pls suggest any others!

The ultimate classic, of course, is Shakespeare. *Romeo and Juliet* for romance, *Much Ado About Nothing* for comedy, or *Hamlet* if you want darker themes. The language seems tough since it’s 400 years old, but a small hack is to read the original alongside a clear modern version, ideallin the same book (look for “clear” or “accessiible”). Upside: your language and reading skills improve like with nothing else, and you some of the most famous stories in history! Enjoy!
