I’ve just started reading The Gunslinger and it struck me that it’s kind of reminiscent of the books I’ve listed in the title
I didn’t really enjoy the long bouts of wandering/following/chasing an unseen thing that features in those books, where the journey is more the focus and the protagonist learns about themselves as they progress.
So I was wondering whether The Gunslinger is similar in that sense? I know I should just keep reading to find out, but I’m curious to hear everyone’s takes! 🙂

The Gunslinger is quite different than the rest of The Dark Tower. It has a completely different vibe. It’s very short. The rest of the series has a different focus for sure.
If you’re not having a good time by the end of book two you’ll know it’s not for you.
Yea I don’t think the DT series is for you.
First time I’ve heard of someone who didn’t like The Left Hand of Darkness btw
