I don’t know anyone personally who has similar taste in books to me so any recommendations will be helpful. I just started getting into this genre and I love the Sherlock Holmes books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as well as the Ms. Marple and Hercule Poirot books by Agatha Christie. What other books do you think I would like within this genre? Thanks in advance.

The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. This one is very curious because the author crafted a proto-Sherlock Holmes with it. The MC is a monk in the middle ages but due to his education he developed a modern mind and uses it to solve cases.
John Dickson Carr and E.C.R. Lorac. They were both active at the same time as Christie and I enjoy them as much as I do Christie. I have yet to find something that really scratches my itch for an Sherlockesque book.
Check out Mary Roberts Rinehart! She’s sometimes referred to as “The American Agatha Christie.” I’ve read a few of her mysteries and couldn’t put them down.
Dorothy Sayers. You’ll probably like her Lord Peter Wimsey books
