I’ve been working through the LOTR series and need to take a break from it. I just want to read about something outside of the series before continuing on with the return of the king (I’ve already read the hobbit, fellowship, and two towers) just looking for a solid book and then jumping back into the series. Ideally it would be on kindle unlimited…

“Spud”, about a boy in a private boarding school in South Africa, is hilarious. Reading just the first book is fine, but 3 more came out to cover his full 4 years of school.
How about Sirens Of Titan or Flowers Of Vasnoi, both are sci-fis that will get you thinking and are nothing like LOTR
If you’re ok with Mystery books, I highly enjoyed almost all the Agatha Christie books. Easy reads and fun. I didn’t read them for a long time for some reason but they are nice easy one-off books.
Check out some Terry Pratchett. Lots of his books are short, quick, reads that pair well with more serious fantasy. Within Discworld you can start almost anywhere, I’d recommend checking out **Mort**, **Guards! Guards!**, or **Equal Rites**.
