I’m 8 months postpartum from having my 2nd baby, and life is hard with a toddler and a baby and having a high-stress job. I need a book that will immediately suck me in! My usual palate cleansers are romcoms, but I’m kinda feeling some thrillers or even horror since it’s October. Suggestions??

for horror – old stephen king is my go to. i’ve read a lot of his older books but still have a few left. honestly, you can take your pick but i loved dreamcatcher, duma key, and the dead zone. not really horror but 11/22/63 is great also.
hope you and the kiddos are doing well!
Dark matter by Blake Crouch and Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Both are books that I read postpartum and they sucked me in like no other. I would even forgo chores/sleep/self-care during my baby’s nap if it meant getting one more chapter in.
In Cold Blood
Sphere by Michael Crichton! Prepare to stay up all night to finish it.
Seabiscuit is a delightful read that had me laughing
For a thriller- Recursion by Blake Crouch.
For a gender flipped adventure- A Brothers Price by Wen Spencer
