I recently read 'The Lover' by Marguerite Duras and enjoyed it very much—it felt exactly like my type of book. I also enjoyed 'Memoirs of a Geisha' when I was a teenager.
I'm looking for suggestions for similar books that have history and romance as central themes. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
