I’m a college freshman and I really enjoyed the readings I did in high school especially some of the classic novels I read during my senior year. I’d like to start reading more and would love some direction on which famous novels to read into next.
Here are some that I’ve really enjoyed (roughly in order):
• Frankenstein
• Lord of the Flies
• 1984
• The Picture of Dorian Gray
• Of Mice and Men
Books I definitely did not enjoy: Heart of Darkness, King Lear

You might enjoy Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry.
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas is another really good one.
The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien is excellent even if you’ve seen the films. The Hobbit as well.
If you want “famous books” i suggest you this list: [https://thegreatestbooks.org/](https://thegreatestbooks.org/)
Those are the safest picks
