I'm looking for books that are somewhat speculative fiction (our world with one wrinkle or a novel interpretation), could have something sci-fi but not required, propulsive plots (usually ticking clock), and a main character but with some other POVs. An example that's a bit like this (though not exactly) is I'm Starting to Worry About This Black Box of Doom. This isn't sci-fi but it our world with a few larger than life elements. It features a main character who has the most time but some of the other points of view are used to add dimensionality almost like a movie. It's kind of a hard vibe to capture but these are sort of like books that almost read like a movie but they still can read and work as a book (so not clunky like reading a script or something) Any ideas?

How about [An Absolutely Remarkable Thing](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/54b4a771-12a6-43e9-91ca-37df8136266e) by Hank Green? The sequel probably fits your description even better, but I wouldn’t recommend reading the second before reading the first.
