I’m about to become a father 😀 and I’m looking for a book with an inspiring male character to draw some guidance from.
Uncle Iroh from Avatar The Last Airbender speaks to me for his love and patience with his nephew, his kindness and gentleness, and his ability to be firm and direct when it truly matters. I also admire how he chooses what is good, even when it goes against everything he was taught growing up.
Do you know any books with similarly positive and grounded male role models? It doesn’t have to be exactly like Iroh, but someone you personally look up to as a fatherly figure.

House on the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune is about an orphanage for kids with super powers. A lot of themes on unconditional love and found family. A really beautiful book.
My favorite book of all time: Honest Illusions by Nora Roberts. Max the magician takes in Lucas, this abused boy who runs away from home, raises him as his own. Beautiful, beautiful relationship between the two of them, pulls at your heartstrings. Best wishes on being a new dad!
