Scholasticists of reddit, pls instruct me– Gabler, 1939 odyssey, or 1961(?) Edition
I already picked up a nice portable reprint of the 1939 text for 11 bucks (Evergreens).
But Apparently gabler is considered definitive, except for those who disagree with gabler and choose the 1960s text. Can I read the 1939? Will the Joyce estate descend on my house and rip it from my hands? I'd like to read whatever he most intended the text to look like, but it appears there's mixed opinion on that. All that the 1939 has going for it is it being the final revision before he died
