Literary fiction with female protagonists

Hi guys, I was wondering if you could recommend me books with a few specifics.

Lately I realized I am really into books that focus on characters. A few examples are The bell jar, to kill a mockingbird, little women etc. So im looking for good books with not only characters but female characters, since I feel like I can relate better with them. It would also be great if the books could lean to the shorter side, since I feel like this genre can become a bit tiring if the book its too big! Can you guys help me?

Bonus point if the book has a portuguese translation!
