I am looking for book recommendations for chapter books I can introduce for bedtime. She is currently wanting me to spend about an hour reading her books before she is ready to go to sleep. I figure if I am reading a book out.out for an hour, it might as well be the same book. Last night I read Red Fish Blue Fish, The Cat in the Hat, and Green Eggs and Ham. It was a lot, but if she can sit through all of that, she should be able to sit through a chapter book. She loves anything animals and cars.

    1. Alice on Wonderland,The Little Prince, James and the Giant Peach are all great to read to her at that age in my opinion.

    2. Picture books are more age appropriate and will hold her attention in a different way from chapter books; it’s not just about the time involved. If you’re tired of Dr. Seuss (I would be), go to the library and find more enjoyable picture books. If you still want to try a chapter book, look for early chapter books with frequent pictures, like the Princess in Black series, Dory Fantasmagory, or Ivy and Bean.
