I'm a huge fan of Lord Grimdark. His sardonic sense of humour is perfectly suited to mine, as well as his characterizations (at least, aside from in Half a War. I didnt care much for the Queen of Tummyaches). I also love his voice in general, it strikes a balance between cutting and evocative. Worst of all, he lets me indulge my vices of cynicism and pessimism, and who doesnt like that?
I'm looking for similar writers. Preferably fantasy or historical fiction, but I'm not very picky. Any recommendations?

A song of Ice and fire by ggrm and John Gwennes Bloodsworn saga are full of gritty action like The First Law series
Try Richard Morgans A Land Fit For Heroes series. I’m on book two, and the fightscenes in particular just scratches the itch.
