Try One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns. Its a really good romantasy duology, the magic system is very interesting, it has to do with cards and its really interesting and compelling. The romance is not too much, and its def more fantasy than romance

Some of my all time favorites-
The Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (technically YA, but don’t let that deter you! It’s fantastic!)
Circe and Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (related books but not necessarily a series)
Good luck!!

His Dark Materials. I dislike high fantasy, I don’t want orce and elves and dragons and shit. HDM isn’t that; it’s high fantasy yes, but it’s also urban fantasy, a dash of steampunk, and a massive hate letter to organized religion
