My father is an avid reader. But relies on me to go to the library to get him books. He's 71 and quite literally likes everything aside from romance. I've exhausted a lot of sci fi, historical fiction, horror, and non fiction he was actually interested in. My public library also lacks some things that are missing. I've wanted to get him into Pratchett. But the first book is missing of course.

Pratchett doesn’t need to be read in order. Skip the first few books anyway and start him out with Guards, Guards and go from there.
Also, ask your librarian if they have a book loaning agreement with other libraries in your area. Most libraries can get you any book you need if you are willing to wait a few weeks for it.
Discworld is multiple stories in one setting and people usually don’t start with The Colour of Magic. If you want to get him into Pratchett, I’d suggest Guards! Guards! or Wyrd Sisters.
Does your library offer “inter library loans”?
Does it offer home delivery?
Would Dad consider using an ereader? It would save you from going to the library.
Try *Raptor Red*, everybody loves dinosaurs, right?
Has he read the Sigma Force series by James Rollins? They’re action/thriller with a little sci-fi and history mixed in. My dad (about the same age as yours) enjoys them, and there are a lot of books in the series.
Ohh that’s so cool . My father don’t read though .
But I can suggest a thriller i read few days back . The knife in her hand by R.K. Eterno . It was awesome in that a six year old girl is accused of a whole family murder with a knife . It was worth it . You could take it into consideration it if you are interested.
If he is an avid reader and you have exhausted a ton of options, could you include some of those before we recommend a bunch of stuff he has read or you have already considered?
Some books my own dad has recommended to me are-
Theft of Swords by Michael J Sullivan
Red Rising by Pierce Brown
Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
NPCs by Drew Hayes
