Memoirs are my favorite type of book to read. I've read most of the "big" ones: The Glass Castle, Educated, Angela's Ashes, Know My Name, Running with Scissors, Just Kids, Kitchen Confidential, etc.

What are some you've read that aren't as well known or popular, or even just ones that knocked you off your feet?

Some of mine are: Solito, Jesus Land, Men we Reaped, Somebody's Daughter

    1. I love Mary Karr, although she’s quite well known. She wrote a book called the Art of Memoir that is fun to read and filled with tons of examples from other writers. It’s a great resource to find new ones.

My Name Is Baseball available on Amazon. A book about the relationship between the author and his son who took his own life. Texts, letters and other material written between the two adds validity to this touching memoir. The author/father includes his son’s last letter written, the suicide letter. Reading the letter his son wrote his dad for father’s day, which he never gave, pulled me heart strings.
