Hey all! First time posting. I have read some classics in the past (William Faulkner etc), which i did enjoy but they were quite intensive reads. My favorite author is probably Haruki Murakami. Ive read a number of his works. I am currently reading 1984 and it is bleak and depressing. Hardly the type of material I want to read while im surrounded by palm trees on holiday. Id like something a bit more happy to read.. I was considering Project Hail Mary (I enjoyed the Martian), but open to more grounded works. Thanks!

Project ha area is great and an easy read that’s a lot of fun.
Cloud Atlas or the Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet by David Mitchell are excellent, or All the Light I Cannot See by Anthony Doer could also fit the bill.
