I really enjoyed how Hilary Mantel wrote Thomas Cromwell in her Wolf Hall series (*Wolf Hall, Bringing Up the Bodies,* and *The Mirror & the Light*). I usually don’t read historic fiction, but his character’s maneuvering was so fascinating that I got sucked right in.
