Hi everyone! I’m a college graduate looking for recommendations on YA fantasy novels that were published within the past 1-2 years. This is both for my own enjoyment, and because I’m looking for comp titles for a YA fantasy novel I’ve been working on. Either a series or standalone is okay.
I read relatively often, but lately it’s mostly been rereading comfort series from my childhood (think PJO/HOO, Warrior Cats, Wings of Fire, His Dark Materials, etc) and am looking to branch out to more recent releases so I can get an idea of what the current YA fantasy market is like. I love stories that are character-driven, with a primary action-heavy main plot and a secondary romance side plot. I also am a huge sucker for the found family trope. Thank you all!
