Looking for a book that will completely transport me, similarly to Lonesome Dove.

I read Lonesome Dove this summer and would love to find a book to match the same feeling of complete immersion that I felt with that book. Some other favorites of mine have been Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart, Migrations by Charlotte McConaghy, and I Who Have Never Known Men by Jaqueline Harpman. I love a novel that is atmospheric with characters who stick with me. I’m open to all genres!

Bonus points if the book isn’t too long so that I can suggest it to my book club. However, I will gladly hold onto all suggestions that are longer for my personal reading.
