Hello,
so I've meanly been reading non-fiction on nature, cognition/psychology and stuff…
I haven't really read any classics yet, besides "The magic mountain" by Thomas Mann, "Steppenwolf" by Hermann Hesse and "The never ending story" by Michael Ende. Those 3 I loved!
I've also read Siddharta but didn't enjoy it at all.
Which books would you recommend as a starter and why? Starting light or full on?
Thx

For starting light i’d recommend my favorite actually, the original uncensored version 1818 version of Frankenstein. The more commonly read 1831 version was censored because of backlash – and I found it harder to understand because of it. The original though? Super easy to read, but also deep.
How far back are you willing to go?
Dracula, perfect for spooky season and imo underrated even though it is obviously a classic! It’s pretty easy to get into as well, the text isn’t as fluffy as contemporary lit but not nearly as dense as other classics can be
