This is what I remember (I read it in the last 3-4 months)- I believe it was based at an academy of some sort. There was also another academy nearby, and they would have trials against each other. The FMC had a love interest, and she thought it was her mate. He was a prince and would regularly report back to his father, the king. But he also had a brother at the other academy. I think it was the darker academy, or maybe shadow work done there? Anyway, she kept having run-ins with his brother when they would have trials in the sky (possibly riding dragons? Or dragon-like creatures), and the pull toward him was strong. I remember that towards the end of the book, he said something along the lines of 'don't mate with him' (the other brother). It seemed like she might have thought her first love interest was her mate, but it could have been his brother. And that possibly she felt that way towards her first love interest because of the ties to the brother who was her actual mate. Ugh, I've looked through my Kindle and tried to find past books I've read, but I can't find it. If the second book had been listed, I would have saved it. But I don't think anything from the second book has been released yet.
