I have recently started getting back into reading, and i am now looking for my next book suggestion.
The last couple of books that I've read are:
Some self help/leadership books
Ken Follett – Pillars of the Earth
Erik Larson – The Splendid and the Vile
Mike Dash – Tulipomania
I loved the writing and story of Pillars and that I felt like I've learned about 12th Century England in a "non-scholarly" way. I enjoyed the inner look at Churchill's "day in the life" in Splendid. I also enjoyed learning about Dutch history through Tulipomania as I am Dutch myself and enjoy learning about its history.
I tried reading Simon Schama's The Embarrassment of Riches but it felt too college textbook style with lots of complicated words, I did not make it past page 100.
I am open to suggestions! TIA

I would recommend Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe – if you like audiobooks, the audiobook for this one is especially good. It is a non-fiction about the troubles in Ireland, but it’s incredibly interesting.
