Looking for some US Civil War history recommendations

I am looking for some good Civil War book recommendations. I’m a history buff and having read through a lot of WW1, WW2 and other European historical books, I realized that I don’t really know as much as I should about the US Civil War. I’m just looking for maybe some soldier diaries or possibly historian summarizations. Anything good you recommend?
