as is often the case, i was a bookworm as a child and this faded away. i’ve been attempting to rebuild the habit for the better part of three years, during which i discovered my favourite book of all time (watership down!!) i find that the books i enjoy most tend to be classics, but i’m quite selective with what i choose to read, which is why i would appreciate as many suggestions as possible 🙂

i’ve enjoyed dystopia in the past, but owing to my current lifestyle i would prefer something with enough emotional depth to hook my attention and keep me pondering over what i have learnt, but not so complex that i become overwhelmed or struggle to keep up.

i think that a medium-sized fiction book would be wonderful — i’ve been intrigued by books such as yukio mishima’s beautiful star, but i’m not sure what fuels my reluctance to finish a book >_< i’m the same with films, but i adore the ghibli telling of ‘tale of the princess kaguya’ if that helps.

i’d like to visit the bookstore tomorrow, so please don’t be a stranger~

    1. Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. His The Five People You Meet in Heaven is great, too, but it’s fiction.

If you are open to more fiction, Alexander MacCall Smith’s series called 44 Scotland Street should fit the bill.
