I’m trying to get back into books after a year or so away and could use some help finding something new that actually keeps me hooked.

Here’s a mix of what I remember really enjoying:

    Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

    Piranesi by Susanna Clarke

    Circe by Madeline Miller

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

And Then There Were None / Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie

Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn

As you can tell, my taste is all over the place 😅. I need something that gives that “holy sht, I can’t stop reading” feeling.
Any genre works tbh, as long as it’s addictive.

I’d love recent releases (2024-25), the kind of books that made you go “wow this is SO good, I need to tell my friend about it right now.”

So basically: if we were friends, and I asked you for your absolute favorite, can’t-miss, 5-star reads of 2025, what would you tell me to pick up first?

      “Dungeon Crawler Carl”
ongoing series book 7 just dropped the audiobook is next level for those that prefer to listen.

    2. Wild Animal by Joël Dicker. Book’s been our for a while but the english translation will be released on October 21st.

    3. Idk if it was 2025 but the will of the many has me feeling like this right now, I finally picked it up and holy shit it’s good.

Also Hindu Myths a Modern retelling was really good and that’s brand new, I read it in like two days and won’t stfu about it.

Bonus on will of the many the sequel is about to come out so that’s going to be 2025 for sure!

    4. Song of Achilles is from 2011 and Murder on the Orient Express is from 1934. If you’re going to limit yourself only to books from the last year, you’re going to miss everything worth reading. If you want a genuinely good book, Shogun by James Clavell was fantastic and one of the few books I could not put down.
