Book Appealing for Both of Us

My wife and I are taking a trip soon where we will be in the car for 8-9 hours each way. We both love listening to audiobooks, but have completely different preferences. She likes spicy adult thrillers and fantasy; I mainly consume non-fiction books about history or science.

My main complaint about most of her books is how poorly written they can be, and her complaint about my choices are that they are boring and feel like schoolwork.

I was hoping to find something in her genre that we could listen to together. I know that's a weird ask, but I appreciate any and all suggestions.
