I'm looking for book recommendations that meet the following criteria:
– 300+ pages;
– action-packed;
– adventure-filled;
– some romance;
– deep character development;
– written by a 19-th/early 20-th century author;
– no 10-page fish descriptions, if you know what I mean.
I'm almost certainly going to read Quo Vadis, Ben-Hur and A Tale of Two Cities.
I've already read The Count of Monte Christo, Lord of the Rings and Winnetou.
I'm looking for more suggestions in advance!

This is leaning heavily on “/early 20-th”, but anthologies from Adventure magazine fit what you’re probably looking for better than anything else. The only one I’ve read is Wolf of the Steppes by Harold Lamb, which fits all your criteria exactly, except that while there is character development, I wouldn’t go quite so far as to call it deep. Tons of others have been published (linked below), including others by Lamb.
